Classical Guitar by Jeffery Bianchi
Join us Sunday, October 4th, at 4pm for an evening of classical melodies by guitarist Jeffery Bianchi.
A native of Williamson, New York, Bianchi has devoted his artistic and intellectual career to the study and practice of music, earning recognition for his expressive virtuosity and captivating interpretations of the classical guitar repertoire. At an early age and throughout his teenage years, Bianchi performed classical guitar at various weddings and cafes, experiences that enabled him to refine his skills. He was soon found performing concerts across Western New York, which eventually led to his appearances at prestigious guitar festivals, including the nationally-recognized Ithaca Guitar Festival as well as the Rantucci International Guitar Festival.
Bianchi began his solo career in 2009, touring throughout Georgia and performing in places such as Savannah, Tybee Island, Toccoa, Richmond, Duluth, and Hartwell. By February of 2010, Bianchi undertook his first large-scale solo tour, giving concerts for an array of audiences in Georgia, Mississippi, Louisiana and Texas with overwhelming success. Building on this momentum, Bianchi continued his musical series in 2011 with performances throughout the Southeast, including in Kentucky, Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina, Mississippi, Louisiana and Florida. Since the concert seasons of 2012 and 2013, he continues to expand his performances in the United States westward, giving concerts to those in states like Ohio, Colorado, Wyoming, and Idaho.
Bianchi studied at the State University of New York (SUNY) at Fredonia under James Piorkowski, a SUNY Distinguished Professor Emeritus who served as head of the guitar program from 1983 until 2024. Piorkowski’s live performances and recitals have been heard in Spain, France, Germany, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia, Slovenia, Puerto Rico, Venezuela, Jamaica, Canada, and throughout the United States. From 1982-2000, Piorkowski was a member of the internationally acclaimed Buffalo Guitar Quartet.
