Visitation Guidelines & Conduct

The Musée culturel du Mont-Carmel aims to protect its visitors as well as preserve the integrity and longevity of its collections and facilities at all times. We ask all visitors and individuals to adhere to the following standards and guidelines when present on the museum grounds or within its doors.

Open Display

Much of our collection is open display, which means that many objects are not encased in glass or guarded behind ropes or screens. Touching can cause unseen damage, so we ask that you to please do not touch any of the objects on display.

We also ask you to limit your contact with the general physical structure of the Musée (e.g., its walls, windows) to the best of your ability. As such, please ensure a respectable safe distance is maintained between yourself and our collections at all times.
Please take extra care when moving around.

We hope you enjoy being able to see the collection close-up.

We are actively engaged in carrying out meticulous restoration work. Please excuse our mess and be mindful of where you step.

Lighting and floor levels vary from one space to another throughout the institution, so please continue to watch your step.

Do not venture into areas or closures that are marked off or otherwise appear as off-limits to sightseeing.
